Class of 93 - Howland High School 20 year Reunion

Class of 93 and their spouses

Class of 93

We went and visited the Bruglers while we were in town!

Shelley hosted our family - God bless her!

I can't believe it's been 20 years since I graduated high school.  It's crazy to think how much time that is...I have been living in Indiana nearly as long as I lived in Ohio!
I was in charge of the reunion with some dear friends - Shelley, Mike and Kristi.

The prep work was mostly hunting down people on Facebook, posting info in the Tribune and emailing as many alums as possible.

The turn out was about 10% - 25 alums came to the event on Saturday night.
Friday night, we met at the HHS vs. Lakeview football game - it was fun to be at the game and see all the changes and updates to the school and stadium.
Saturday during the day, we met at Tiger Town so all our kids could play - that was really fun.  I loved seeing who we all created!  :)
Adorable kids - and most of the kids were the ages of those that I knew when the parents where that age - crazy thought!
Saturday night was a really nice dinner at Leo's - it was quiet, comfortable, and people just caught up with one another.  Good food, good conversation and good times.  I am SO thankful we did it this way.

I wish more of our grads could have attended, but we have people living ALL over the country and world - so it's understandable why they didn't make it.  Also, many folks from our class have kids who are in middle school or high school and their children had sports commitments or events they just couldn't miss.

I think our efforts to gather together were appreciated and although many couldn't attend, they KNEW the reunion was happening and they wished us well.

It was fun. And I look forward to our 25th - which will most likely happen over Thanksgiving at a Bar....to keep it super simple.  :)

First Day of School for the Littles (ECC - Jameson - 4s, Jackson MDO 2's

Another school we love and have been a part of for a long time is the Early Childhood Center at Church at the Crossing.  Joey started here in the 3's room and every child has been with the same teachers, for the same classes ever since.

Jameson is our 3rd child to have Mrs. Frayer and Mrs. Ahernart for 4s Preschool class on Tuesdays and Fridays.

Jackson is in the "Older 2's" Mom's Day Out class with Miss Ginger and Miss Debbie on Tuesdays.

They both love going to school! (and I appreciate my Tuesdays being "kid-free" for 5 hours!)

First Day of School 2013-2014 (Morgan in 1st grade, Joey in 3rd grade)

One of the best decisions we have made for our children is placing them at The Oaks Academy.
The first day of school every year is a time of celebration, worship, excitement and being reunited with all the loving, and wonderful families and staff.

Morgan is now in 1st grade and this year she has Mrs. Titus.

Joey is now in 3rd grade and this year he has Mrs. Kirby.

It's going to be a GREAT year!

BTP Camping 2013

Well, this is one to remember.  Our camper was already pretty close to dead upon our departure to head to Paynetown State Park in Bloomington.  This is an annual camping trip with Joe's barbershop folks.  Many people from the Cardinal District load up their families and camp for the weekend and spend most of the time together - singing, playing games, eating and just having fun.

We were a little concerned upon loading up our camper because on our previous camping trip to Holiday World, it started to show signs of exhaustion....well, now, it's dead.

As were were trying to put up the camper that first night, the end would not stay stable, and ultimately, it just collapsed.  That was bad.
Luckily for us, the Griggs family happened to have an extra 10 man tent - THANK GOD!
I have grown to LOVE camping this summer - but I now know, I don't like sleeping in a tent.
Oh well.
We still had a great time, and now we need to figure out what to do with our camper - fix it, trade it in...not sure.

Highlights of the weekend:
Beautiful weather
Playing and swimming at the beach
Corn Hole
Joe winning the closest to the pin - golf - pitching game
Joey winning Novice Award with his quartet

It was all in all a great weekend!
